[RE] Roleplay Recap: Week 10/11

Week 10 only really had one roleplay session, because I was so busy IRL, so I’ve included it here instead!

Lafiel

She told Koh’li of the Black Baron, an Ishgardian noble that had taken her captive and held her for four years before Lafiel was finally able to escape, but not without leaving his mark upon her in the form of several whiplash marks upon her back. He’d traded her lashes for freedom, if she wanted to leave his company so badly, but in truth, he wanted to leave an indelible scar upon her so she could never forget him.

It took everything in Lafiel to convince Koh’li that she didn’t tell him out of want of vengeance, only so that he would understand why nearness to Ishgard unnerved her so. The miqo’te reined in his fury, but he catalogued the name, determined to do some research of his own on this “Black Baron”.

After they hurried through Ishgard and across Coerthas, Lafiel was finally able to settle down as they reached the hunter-town of Tailfeather. Koh’li negotiated with them to join a hunt the following morning,  a few bears were being troublesome, so there was a need to cull them for the safety of the villagers. Along with that, Lafiel did some bartering of her own for some additional supplies to augment their meals.

Departing from Tailfeather, Koh’li hunted a few rabbits for their dinner while Lafiel foraged the forest for edible plants and the like. By the time they made it to a suitable campsite, the two of them had harvested enough from the woods to make a suitable meal. Koh’li gave his thanks to the woods and the wilds for providing for them, then the pair set about setting up camp.

They shared a meal of fire-roasted rabbit and baked root vegetables with a delectable caelumtree fruit cobbler for dessert. As the two of them dined, they shared more stories of their pasts wherein Koh’li learned there were more facets to the minstrel’s life than any had given her credit for, including himself.

Unbeknownst to them, however, their passage through Ishgard had not gone entirely unnoticed…

Katja

After sennights of agonizing, Katja finally made her way out to the apartment of one, Valeria Camena, determined to apologize — as well as deliver a home-baked treat as a peace offering. There was little to apologize for, however, as Valeria pointed out that Katja had very valid feelings over their “vacation” getting put aside in favor of Zerey’s syndicate war.

Eventually, their thoughts turned to the Vanguard Company and recent events. Neither of them seemed to like the route of criminality that the Vanguard was taking of late, all on behalf of the mysterious entity, Litany. The pair of them resolved to meet with Litany on their own in order to ascertain just why it is that the Vanguard seemed to simultaneously love and hate the necromancer, Rihad. After that, they’d see about resuming their derailed vacation… and Valeria’s mission to find a cure for Katja’s ailing mother.
