Katja Armitanis

Born in the Black Shroud, Katja has been no stranger to violence and prejudice made all the more difficult by being a half-breed miqo’te of both tribes. Yet, even that was the least of Katja’s worries in her troubled life. Daughter to an abusive father, Katja’s upbringing was difficult to say the least. It made her rebellious and angry much of the time, vicious and hesitant to trust others.
Her only saving grace was her mother. But her mother was born with a debilitating blood illness, making her a prime victim for her father. It wasn’t until her father nearly killed her mother that Katja broke — and murdered her father, dumping his body into the sea.
A troubled soul made even more so by her crime, Katja threw herself into tending to her mother. But the poor woman was far gone; shattered by the abuse she suffered and her own broken body. Still, Katja made it her life’s mission to give her mother the best quality life she could for as long as she had her mother with her.

Gridanian Resident / Frequent Visitor
Katja and her mother, M’elora, reside in Gridania. The miqo’te is often seen coming and going on various tasks and assignments, but returns at least once every sennight to visit her mother. Oftentimes delivering food, new clothing or the odd trinket now and then, the miqo’te seems to dote upon her mother with a deep-seated devotion. Particularly well-connected characters in Gridania might also know that M’elora is and has been very ill for a long time with a malady the Conjurer’s Guild cannot cure…
Limsa Lominsa Docks
Anyone who has business to pass along the docks of Limsa Lominsa will have often seen this catte working there, lugging around crates and cartons, working just as hard as every big-bodied roegadyn and hyur despite her small stature. Seemingly tireless and hardworking, the catte worked without complaint.
Adventurer’s Guild
Members of the Adventurer’s Guild in any city may recognize this industrious little catte. She frequently comes in for work, taking just about anything she can get her mitts on. No matter how dirty, unpleasant, or low paying — so long as it does pay.
Just That Darn Catte
Just another darn miqo’te hanging around. You’re welcome to bump into her, mistake her for someone else, or whatever else you might think of to get her attention. Just be forewarned that she’s a volatile little firecracker that may or may not appreciate you coming up…

Katja can often be seen in the company of this Hingan samurai, whose affable, unflappable personality seems like water to Katja’s oil. Yet, somehow — miraculously — the two of them seem to get along. He’s often seen delivering dinner to her after a shift working for the various Guilds in any given city-state.

Best Friend #1
While Katja and this half-Garlean don’t always see eye to eye, they’ve become steadfast friends since Katja started spending time around both Valeria and the Seventh Chantry. Valeria’s quiet, demure demeanor is oftentimes a blatant contrast to Katja’s fiery nature, but that may well be why the two of them get along so well.
T’Shira Rihll
Best Friend #2
Something of a weepy crybaby, at least in Katja’s eyes, T’Shira can be emotional, high-strung, and somewhat meek. Katja feels highly protective of the young scholar, having a soft spot for those who have been abandoned or victimized. Like with Valeria, Katja is such a high contrast from T’Shira’s meek demeanor that sometimes it seems like the cranky crimson catte’s temperament rubs off on her.
