Jaehana Azuremane

Jaehana Azuremane ♦ Dreamgrove Tender

Born in the Northrend village of Silverbrook, Jaehana had a fairly normal upbringing. Her father was a trapper and forester that wandered the Grizzly Hills in search of game or worked at the Blue Sky Logging Grounds. Her mother was an herbalist and hedge-witch that helped the locals with ailments and injuries.

However,  when she was seventeen Jaehana's parents were totally taken in when the Wolf Cult and were summarily turned into worgen by the archmage Arugal.  Jaehana, too, was transformed but Arugal kept her and a number of other young worgen with him in Shadowfang Tower to be experimented upon in order to create stronger, better worgen. She and others like here were imprisoned and essentially tortured until adventurers finally came along to deal with the resurrected archmage once and for all.

Freed during the chaos as Shadowfang Tower fell, Jaehana escaped into the wilds of the Grizzly Hills where she scraped by as best she could, hunting small game in her worgen form or scavenging for edible plants and fruit like her mother taught her.  She lived that way for the better part of two years before she encountered a Night Elf Druid, Elusirion Nightfeather (NPC).

Elusirion coaxed Jaehana into trusting him by traveling with her across Northrend for the better part of a year.  During that time, he also taught her some of the more basic druid skills, like healing and mending, summoning roots to entangle the feet of her enemies, or soothing other savage beasts.  Once he earned her trust, he helped her learn how to shapeshift back into her human form -- something she was never taught how to do when she was under Arugal's thumb. However, her feral and wild nature caused her to lash out at Elusirion in her frustration, fear, and pain reverting her instantly back into her worgen form. The Night Elf decided that the best thing to do for her until he found a cure was to take her into the Emerald Dream where she would sleep until he woke her.

During the encroachment of the Nightmare upon the Emerald Dream, however, Jaehana was one of many that were awakened and taken to the Dreamgrove for refuge. Believing her to be Elusirion's apprentice, the druids took her in when she mentioned his name and how he'd taken her in and taught her.  They, too, began to teach her the deeper ways of druidism and she was given the task of helping to tend the Dreamgrove since she was only an initiate.  She didn't learn until later that Elusirion had been killed by the Legion.  With nowhere else to go and nowhere to turn, Jaehana stayed, continuing to tend to the Dreamgrove and it's flora, unable to think of what else to do. She befriended many in the Dreamgrove during that time, finding an abiding friendship with Zen'kiki, another novice druid given the menial task of minding the barracks that visiting druids stayed in.

Eventually, however, Rensar Greathoof, the Archdruid that essentially ruled the Dreamgrove decided it was time for her to take her place in the world.  New opportunities were being presented with the opening of the Dragon Isles, new flora could be found and experimented with, new remedies found. There were also whispers of a new World Tree and the need of tenders to help it flourish. So, with a heavy heart, Jaehana made her way into the world.

Largely uneducated in Silverbrook, she had a limited view of the world through what she'd learned in her time at the Dreamgrove. She'd read many books, seen many pictures of the rest of Azeroth, but none of that compared to actually experiencing it firsthand. Somewhat overwhelmed, she oftentimes feels a bit lost and confused about the things that go on around her, so she usually finds a quiet place to sit, usually near some manner of plants.  They soothe her.

She stays in her worgen form a majority of the time, feeling safer in it, less vulnerable than in her human form.

Visitors of the Dreamgrove

Those who visited the Dreamgrove during the Legion campaign and onward are likely to have seen Jaehana wandering among the many trees and flowers tending to them, as well as helping to tend to the Ancients. She was never much for talking or socializing, tending to shy away from anyone that got too near.

Former Residents of Silverbrook

Characters that lived, worked, or otherwise passed through Silverbrook in Northrend prior to the events in Wrath of the Lich King are welcome to have known Jaehana or her family.

Northrend Adventurers

Those adventurers that traveled through Northrend after the events of Wrath of the Lich King might have seen a wild worgen in the Grizzly Hills. She would not be approachable, but neither would she attack. She would simply run and hide.

A peculiar kaldorei that Jaehana has befriended in recent days, she spends much of her time with him talking philosophy or about their many outdoor adventures.

Tes Rainblade

A clever and subtly mysterious kaldorei that occasionally visits Jaehana beneath her tree in Lion's Rest. Always wise and coolly protective of the worgen, Tes is always a welcome companion when she shows up.
